Hemorrhoids are most painful and irritation skin infection in the anal region. Most of the people get confused and worried about the methods to treat them. Ice Packs: As we know that ice helps to soothe and reduce swelling, the ice packs can be applied to the anal regions for 10-15 minutes once daily. It is fine to use smaller ice cubes that are somewhat watery and avoid sticky ones. For internal pains it is best to apply freezing water filled in the ice-pop molds.

Anal Hygiene and proper toilet usage: Avoid severe rubbing with toilet papers as this will intensify the haemorrhoid infection and also causes irritation. Clean the infected areas often with natural cleansers. Do not control stools and use the toilet at once you sense urgency. Avoid prolonged sitting or too much straining in the toilet. Practise regular toilet habits. Keep the anal region clean always after stools and anal intercourse. Better use soft medicated wipes like Anusol to cleanse the anal areas.

Avert prolonged sitting, standing, heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercises- All these actions will increase venal blood pressure and will result in hemorrhoids. It is advisable to go for regular short walks. Proper sleeping habits will also help to reduce haemorrhoid irritations.

Application of ointments, pills and suppositories- There are plenty of haemorrhoid cure ointments that are available in the market like petroleum jelly, Vaseline, etc and they can be bought even without prescriptions and application of these creams and gels will soothe the burning sensation. There are several oral pain killers that include parcetamol will aid in reducing haemorrhoidal pains. A suppository like Proctosedyl is something that is inserted up the anus and will relieve the pain in those areas.

Some of the other usual home remedies are the haemorrhoid cushions (rubber ring like those of swimming rings) on which the sufferer can sit for soothing and wearing loose fitting cotton underwear. Proper diet and adequate rest along with regular workouts will enable the best home remedy for any form of hemorrhoids.
